Topics Covered (time in video in brackets):

  • If I do anything fast or intense I get a pain on the right hand side of my knee under the kneecap. What can I do? (00:00)
  • On Saturday I sprained my ankle whilst hiking in Chamonix. I went for a scan/X-ray today and it is confirmed that I have a level 2 sprain and have torn two of my ligaments. What can I do to rehab it? (9:40)
  • I have scoliosis so suffer from a lot of upper back tightness. My sports therapist who I see regularly has recommended I do some daily mobility exercises such as the superman stretch each side, cat/dog pose and child’s pose with a stretch each side. What are your thoughts on this? (18:20)
  • I have had hamstring tendonopathy for last 12-18 months and have been doing the isometric hamstring rehab 2-3 times a week for last few weeks. Pain has reduced and it is flaring up less frequently. How do I know when to move onto eccentric rehab video? (21:50)
  • I have a pain in the ball of my foot, behind my middle toe that gets worse when I run and walk on hard surfaces. When I put my Oofas on I can’t feel it at all. I’ve had this for a few months now on and off, but it’s flared up again after a 10km trail run on Sunday. What can I do? (23:30)
  • I had a fibula stress fracture and the pain has come back. What should I do? (27:15)
  • What would you recommend for piriformis syndrome?  (31:25)
  • Ive recently been having tightness/pain around the glute med /hip rotator area. About three weeks ago I did also start to feel my hamstring mid portion on the same side but this has been ok with easy running. The issue does not feel as though it's the in the upper hamstring tendon more towards the mid glute. Any advice please? (34:30)
  • Please could you ask for advice for plantar fasciitis not responding to deep tissue massage basic calf stretching. I have had it for 4 months now and cannot seem to get rid of it. (37:35)
  • What might be causing the outer side of my heel to feel sore at the start of a run? It’s not red, swollen or sore to press and I’ve seen therapists various who have said there is nothing anatomical of concern, so I’m at a loss. There is slightly more wear on my trainer heel in the area so it may just be how I run, but any suggestions to ease it are welcome. (41:50)
  • I've been having alot of lower back pain in the lower lumbar spine and the Doctor and a Chiropractor have both said it is wear and tear and there is not much you can do for that and I need to manage it. It seems to get worse on my longer runs (over 10 miles). Is there any other advice you can give me on what I should do/not do in terms of strength work and any exercises/stretching. I'm using the Voltarol gel when I get discomfort and trying not to take painkillers, however they do relieve the pain. (44:45)
